Darya and Jonathan are two people that you meet, and instantly, feel like you have known them for years. They both are so warm, fun, and insanely smart. When I look back on their wedding day, I think of how easy the day was. Everything came together so beautifully.
Darya and Jonathan wanted to include some of Darya’s cultural traditions as well as the American wedding traditions. I had never witnessed an Iranian ceremony, and it was beautiful. Hearing her uncle speak in Farsi during the ceremony brought tears to my eyes. I couldn’t understand what he was saying (though later, it was translated), the language brought tears to my eyes. You could feel the love: through their language, through all the little details on the alter, and the energy that was on that hill.
Since Covid, weddings have felt a bit more magical. We are mostly flies on the wall during events and I love that. I get to witness friends and family see each other for the first time in over a year. You get to witness the love and joy. Guests are truly savoring their time with others and more present than ever. Community is a gift. Love is a gift. We are so lucky to capture it and witness it.
Congrats Darya & Jonathan!
