Mike and Molly’s wedding was such an incredible celebration. We HIGHLY anticpated this wedding and were so excited when the day arrived. I was incredibly excited to work with their planner, Bryce Carson of Roberts & co. Molly and Mike etched out so much time for photos. They wanted their portraits to be taken in the heart of Richmond, at the “old” Valentine. The bride and groom wanted a good chunk of images captured with their people. They had their family included during the wedding party photos, and they wanted a lot of candids. It was really fun, and everyone was just a joy to be around.

This was Andrew and I’s first time at the Tredegar.. we were stunned. It is truly a gorgeous space and I loved how you could see peeks of the James through the windows. The light and the large windows were stunning. We really hope to get to capture this space again.

It was a big honor to be asked to photograph Mike and Molly’s day, not only because they are amazing people, but Molly’s late father was a photographer. When I captured their engagement session, a part of the session was at their house and I saw her father’s work on their walls. I was in awe of his talent. I really wanted to make her father proud and capture his daughters wedding well. I was thinking about him a lot and I was wondering how he would show up on her wedding day. When I arrived to her room at Linden Row Inn, her room number was 222. Angel numbers.

I caught Mike and Molly during the day taking it in. During the dancing portion of the night, I saw them standing away from the group, looking over at their loved ones, and even Molly snuck in a photo. The day after the wedding we sent over their wedding previews. Mike and Molly had some things to pick up at the venue, so they waited to look through them inside of the space. Mike even surprised her by playing their first dance song and asking her to dance one last time at their wedding venue. He quietly videoed it and shared it.. I may or may not have cried.
